The
Neighborhood Association was organized in 1964 as a not for
profit corporation to preserve areas and homes of historical
interest, to combat community deterioration, and to foster
community spirit, garden clubs, and beautification of the
community.
Annual
Membership dues are $30.
Meetings
are held on the fourth Monday of each month at All Souls Unitarian
Church, Room 120.
The
Neighborhood Association is involved in a number of activities
throughout the year. In September we host the "Party
in the Park" in Maple View Park. This has become an annual
event. In past years we have had face painting, clowns making
balloon animals, a Jupiter Jump for the kids, an egg toss,
and many other fun activities for all!
Each December we host a Holiday Party at the Garden Center.
Come and enjoy the company of your neighbors with wine, beer,
good food, and the music of a local harpist.
We
sponsor, along with the Maple Ridge Garden Club, beautification
projects on many of the neighborhood islands. In December
of 2001, over 10 tress were planted on the islands and easements
throughout the neighborhood!
Each
year we sponsor the "Maple Ridge Run" which is held
on Memorial Day, in past year's we have had almost 400 runners
enjoying our beautiful neighborhood.
We
also sponsor (along with the Maple Ridge Garden Club), the
Annual Home and Garden Tour. The tours first began in 1977
and have grown into the major neighborhood event of the year.
We raise funds from the tour for activities and events sponsored
throughout the year. Over the years, many beautiful gardens
and homes have been featured on the tour. Find
out about the Home and Garden Tour.
